Dwight Lowery entering the 2008 NFL Draft

Who: Dwight Lowery, Jared McNulty, Brett Norris

What: I will be writing a story about Dwight Lowery. He is a former student and football standout at SJSU and is also someone that I know. He is from my hometown of Santa Cruz and was the roomate of one of my good friends. Dwight will be entering the 2008 NFL Draft in April and is currently working hard in order to get drafted in the first few rounds.

Where: Santa Cruz and San Jose State University

When: April 26, 2008

Why: I feel that this is a significant story, especially for readers of the Spartan Daily because Dwight is an alumni of San Jose State. He is entering the draft because he wants to take his game to the next level and compete against the best.

How: I will hopefully be able to get a few interviews with Dwight and I will also interview a couple other people who are in similar positions to him.

I will be interviewing different types of people to get different aspects of the story. Some of the people I will interview include a local college football player, students at SJSU, Dwight's former roomate, and Dwight himself.

A.P. Style

These are four wierd rules in the A.P. Styles book.
1.) Compared to, Compared with
-Use "compared to" when the intent is to assert, without the need for elaboration, that two or more items are similar. Use "compared with" when juxtaposing two or more items to illustrate similarities and/or differences.

2.) Flautist
- The prefered word is flutist.

3.) Korean names
-North Korean names are generally three seperate words, each starting with a capial letter. South Korean names are three words with the second two names hyphenated and a lowercase lettr after the hyphen. (VERY CONFUSING)

4.) Mishap
- A minor misfortune. People are not killed in mishaps.
